The Amelia Walk Community Development District Board of Supervisors will discuss cracks along Stonehurst Parkway, landscape maintenance contracts and proposed parking and fishing signs at its Tuesday, Oct. 20, meeting.
The board meets at 2 p.m. at the Amelia Walk Amenity Center, 85287 Majestic Walk Blvd., in Fernandina Beach. The meeting is open to the public, with telephone access available at 1-877-304-9269 using code 5440582, according to the meeting agenda.
The district, chaired by Jeffrey Robinson, oversees roads, stormwater ponds, amenities and common areas within the Amelia Walk community. Maintenance is funded in part through assessments paid by property owners.
Road repairs and maintenance contracts
Cracks along Stonehurst Parkway are scheduled for discussion, along with a separate asphalt repair proposal and storm drain cleaning.
The agenda also includes landscape proposals for Areas 35 and 36, landscaping in Area 45 and specifications for a districtwide maintenance contract.
The proposed contract would cover landscaping, irrigation, fertilization, pest control and weed management. Supervisors will also discuss requests for proposals for pond maintenance.
The district is responsible for maintaining stormwater ponds and other common infrastructure, according to its official FAQ.
Parking, fishing signs under consideration
Supervisors will consider installing "No Parking" signs at a roundabout and "No Fishing" signs near homes adjoining designated fishing ponds.
The proposals concern specific locations rather than communitywide restrictions.
Fishing is generally permitted in district common-area ponds under existing policy. Amelia Walk's roads are publicly owned and maintained through district assessments, not by Nassau County.
Parking survey and district operations
The board will review survey results concerning additional parking and littoral planting zones, which use shoreline vegetation to support pond health.
Other business includes financial statements through Sept. 30, minutes from the Sept. 15 meeting and updates from district staff, legal counsel and the district engineer.
District Manager Daniel Laughlin will also report on fiscal 2026 goals and objectives.
Residents can contact Laughlin at 904-940-5850 or [email protected].
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Amelia Walk Amenity Center.
