Three seats on the board that governs the Port of Fernandina will go before voters on the November ballot, along with supervisor positions across five community development districts in Nassau County.
Details on local special district races and candidate qualification requirements are maintained on theNassau County Supervisor of Elections Portal. The qualifying period for all local special district seats ran from June 8 through June 12.
Port Authority
Districts 3, 4, and 5 on the Ocean Highway and Port Authority (OHPA) board are up for election. The five-member board oversees the Port of Fernandina as an independent special district created by the Florida Legislature.
Each seat carries a four-year term, a $20,000 annual salary, and a November start date. Candidates must be registered Nassau County voters residing within their respective districts.
Community Development Districts
Fourteen CDD supervisor seats are also on the ballot across five districts:
- Amelia National CDD: Seats 2 and 5.
- Amelia Walk CDD: Seats 1, 2, and 4.
- Heron Isles CDD: Seats 2 and 4.
- River Glen CDD: Seats 3, 4, and 5.
- Three Rivers CDD: Seats 4 and 5.
All CDD supervisor positions are nonpartisan, pay $200 per meeting up to $4,800 annually, and carry four-year terms.
Soil and Water Conservation District
Seats 1, 3, and 5 on the Nassau Soil and Water Conservation District board are also up for election. These positions are unpaid, and state law requires candidates to be actively engaged in or retired from agriculture to qualify.
The qualifying fee for every seat was $25. Candidates could also have qualified by collecting 25 valid petition signatures.
