Francis Remick and his 1956 Chevrolet Corvette won the eighth annual Cars & Cannons Vintage Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Fort Clinch State Park in Fernandina Beach, the Fernandina Beach News-Leader reported.

Remick's Corvette took top honors at the annual show, which brings vintage and classic vehicles inside the historic state park.

This year's trophy featured a miniature cannon, a nod to the historic fort that hosts the event. Remick also received a framed print from the 2025 show.

Vintage cars fill Fort Clinch

The show ran from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and featured classic vehicles from before 2001. Volkswagen Buses, Beetles, Ford Mustangs, Acuras and other vintage vehicles were among those displayed. Spectators browsed the lineup and cast ballots for a People's Choice Award.

Cars & Cannons is organized with support from Auto Legends Amelia and the Friends of Fort Clinch, a nonprofit citizen support organization established in 1992 to support Fort Clinch State Park.

More than two dozen volunteers helped organize the event, according to the Friends of Fort Clinch.

Registration cost $50 for most eligible vehicles. Proceeds from the event benefit Fort Clinch State Park.

Regular park admission is $6 per vehicle for two to eight people and $4 for a single-occupant vehicle or motorcycle. Admission is $2 for pedestrians and bicyclists. Entry to the fort costs an additional $2.50 per person.

The News-Leader's Facebook video of classic cars leaving Fort Clinch after the show had drawn more than 5,700 views.

Cars & Cannons began in 2019 and has become an annual showcase pairing classic vehicles with one of Amelia Island's best-known historic sites.
